Don't Have to Live Like a Refugee . . . .

Blogger's up this morning, but it's impossible to say for how long. The service is becoming exponentially undependable. Like others, I may have to move this site in the near future.

There are a couple thing to watch out for if you move:

-Motime is free, absent of draining spamblogs, is far superior to Blogger's service (instant publishing, no blackouts), and lets you play in the template for free. On the downside, it doesn't have blog importing (yet), it doesn't have a link-field title (yet), only shows up to 30 posts on the main page (so far), and the time-stamp is in 24 hr format (so far).

-Typepad makes you pay the top tier of pricing in order to be able to play around in your template. It provides blog importing, and all the features you could want. The only downside for me was that it locked me out 6 friggin hours after I opened one. They also let you host docs, flash files, photos, and other stuff.

-Movable Type, B2Evolution, and Bloxsum (sp) are all-in-one software packs that you can use to host a blog on your own server. Travis Benning has a B2evo blog, check it out to see how it looks. Carpe Bonum switched from Blogger to Movable Type a couple weeks ago. While these systems would let you have your own domain (Wyattstorch.com), and full control over your blog, at least B2evo requires that you know SQL and server-side configurations.
